Our Profile

Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, UTM through Building Information Modelling Centre for Digital Innovations and Solutions (BIMCDIS) is the Satellite myBIM Centre for Construction Industry Development Board since 2018.

At its establishment, this centre targets to promote better implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the construction industry.  BIM as the most recent technology used in the construction industry, will not only assist construction players in digitalising the representation of a building but also facilitate better collaboration and efficient information exchange between construction parties.

BIMCDIS establishes three core areas as the main activities namely i) the use of BIM technology (BIM technology); ii) BIM Management process and management (BIM Management), and iii) BIM for teaching and learning (BIM Education)

These core areas are stemmed by three major thrusts to direct the center to its vision and mission.  There are Research and Development, Training and Consultancy

We are glad to partner with CIDB’s myBIM Centre, under a Memorandum of Understanding, to form myBIM satellite learning centre for the southern region. 

BIMCDIS, with its expertise and facilities, provided such as the Building Information Modelling  Computer Lab is highly contributed to CIDB’s myBIM Centre.  Under this Memorandum of Understanding, BIMCDIS will be hosting various BIM training programmes for construction practitioners.

Our dedicated training centre is located in the Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Johor Bahru.  It is equipped with the latest BIM tools which offer and conduct training based on the BIM training modules developed by CIDB myBIM Centre.

Our state-of-the-art training facility is now ready to conduct training modules with certification from CIDB.
